CIMB Bank signs MOU with Remedi to co-develop digital health and wellness solutions

KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): CIMB Bank Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Remedi Innovations Sdn Bhd to co-develop digital health and wellness solutions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the healthtech sector.

The partnership is part of CIMB’s Digital Labs Innovation Programme, which aims to embed financial services directly into digital platforms used by SMEs.

Remedi is a certified provider of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and offers a cloud-based clinic management system that helps healthcare providers streamline operations and improve patient care.

The integration will allow clinics, healthcare providers, and pharmaceutical suppliers to access CIMB’s financial services, such as virtual cards, merchant services, lending, and virtual accounts, directly through Remedi’s platform.

Lawrence Loh, co-chief executive officer of CIMB’s group commercial and transaction banking, said the initiative supports the bank’s goal of becoming an ecosystem enabler by delivering embedded financial services. He noted that healthcare is a fast-growing sector, ripe for digital transformation.

Dr Khairul Faizi Khalid, managing director of Remedi Innovations, said embedding banking tools within clinic systems will allow providers to focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks.

The collaboration also builds on CIMB’s recent MOU with Pharmaniaga Bhd (KL:PHARMA), reinforcing the bank’s strategy to offer integrated, needs-based financing solutions across the healthcare supply chain. “By embedding financial services into our partners’ platforms, we are bridging the digital adoption gap and accelerating innovation across the healthcare industry,” said Loh.
